We know the pain of not affording a text book, we know the pain of not affording school uniform, we know the pain of a crying child because they are kicked out of school due to outstanding fees.
When it comes to education one has to face the reality of knowing that we are facing significant exclusion challenges. A challenge that is alarming and revealing a lack of access to education.
Study Center
More than one fifth of children aged 6-11 are out of school, one third of youth age 12-14 years facing a similar fate. Alarmingly, almost 60% of youth aged 16-17 years are not attending school.
At our educational center, we aim to impart knowledge and provide comprehensive support to educators, learners, and parents through our aftercare schooling programs. Our initiatives include:
Homework Assistance and Problem-Solving Sessions: We offer dedicated sessions to help students with their homework and to address any academic challenges they may encounter.
Reading and Numeracy Challenges: We focus on enhancing the reading abilities and basic numeracy skills of learners, ensuring they build a strong foundation for future learning.
Saturday Classes: We organize special classes on Saturdays specifically designed for Grade 10 to Grade 12 learners. These classes cover various learning areas and aim to help students achieve their desired academic results.
By offering these services, we strive to create a supportive and enriching environment that promotes academic success and personal growth for all our learners.
The legacy of Apartheid is still lingering up to this day though we have gained freedom for the past thirty years. Which then makes Mothers of the Nation to conclude that the present government has failed dismally to address the plight of children development in its totality. It should be borne in mind that children, in any country, are the future leaders. That is why as Foundation, our emphasis is more on education as our world icon, Nelson Mandela once said: โEducation is the best weapon to conquer the worldโ. We believe, these facilities should begin at our schools and continue into our communities. It is again a fact that our children indulge in substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, alcohol abuse and a host of other social ills because they have NOTHING to do after school
The inspirational aim of Mothers of the Nation is that;
Once these recreational facilities are in place, the rate of these social ills can be reduced or even eliminated. Another area of concern for the Foundation is that the Covid-19 pandemic did affect every household and in addition, children became the worst victims of the pandemic, as many of them were left as Orphans. Furthermore that; children from socio-economically weaker regions, remote rural areas and urban became the worst victims and most hard hit. It is the contention of Mothers of the Nation that these children should be greatly assisted by providing them with food parcels every month, be assisted with school uniform and shoes and be further assisted to further their education by organizing bursaries for deserving students.
Mothers of the Nation has been a catalyst for the children from previously disadvantaged backgrounds to get them back to school and restart their positive livelihoods.
โA SUCCESSFUL CHILD BEGINS WITH THE EDUCATIONAL
EMPOWERMENT OF THAT CHILDโ
IF YOU BELIEVE IN THE ABOVE STATEMENT, WHY DONโT WE JOIN HANDS AND REACH OUT TO MAKE IT HAPPEN?
